To all the amazing fathers and father figures in our lives ... Thank you!
But I, by your great love, can come into your house;
In reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.
Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies –
make your way straight before me.
Thank you that by your great love, wherever we are, we can enter into your house. That you for those who gathered in the sanctuary, for those who listened over the phone, and for those who watch online. Knit us all together into one big congregation as we worship you. We bow our hearts before you. Lead us into your righteousness and make your way straight before us. In Christ's name we pray, Amen.
Thank you for many gifts that you grant to us each day.
Thank you for the opportunity for some to gather in the sanctuary this week.
Thank you for the gifts of technology that allow others of us to worship together, even though not in the sanctuary.
Bless us all as we worship you.
This Father's Day we also thank you for fathers and father figures.
Hear us as we offer our personal thanksgivings.
[Pause and share your personal joys with God.]
Of course, not all things in this world live up to our joy filled praises.
Lord, help us and our world in the places where this earth falls short.
Heal the sick.
Comfort those who mourn.
Protect the weak.
Reunite the lost.
[Pause and share your personal requests with God.]
As your church, though still divided, we embody our unity by joining our voices in the words of Jesus who taught us to pray ...
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.
Go in the grace, mercy, and peace of God, the Father
the love of Jesus Christ, His one and only Son
and the fellowship of His Holy Spirit
both now and forever
